0 Question: What is stronger than spider-web silk? Asked by barney to Iain, Jo, Leo, Mariam on 24 Jun 2010 in Categories: General.
Leo Garcia answered on 24 Jun 2010:
I believe that Kevlar is stronger than spider-web silk. It is not only stronger, but is capable of withstanding much greater strains than spider silk.
Spider silk does have a greater tensile (pulling) strength than high grade steel though.
Don’t tell SpiderMan though, as he will be kicking himself that he isn’t “Kevlar-Man”. Doesn’t have the same ring, though, does it?
