• Question: could we get an outbreak of the plague ever?

      It is possible, but it wouldn’t be so bad and we are much better prepared to prevent it from spreading. The plague is bacterial, and there are a number of groups of antibiotics which can be used to kill it, so even if there was a major outbreak, we would be able to deal with it.

      The bacteria that caused the plague is easily treated by modern antibiotics, so although people could still catch it, it wouldn’t cause the problems that it did before antibiotics were invented.
