• Question: How did you become interested in fruit flies?

      I’m not! I think someone else in this group does work with fruit flies…

      When I was doing my PhD, a few of the other labs in my building were working on fruit flies, and so I learned a lot from them about all the useful things you can do with flies: I realised what a powerful experimental tool they can be.
      I should point out that I’m not really interested in flies themselves, I’m interested in using flies as a starting point for understanding more about human biology!
