I don’t know the answer to this question so I would have to look it up. You seem to be really clever and really good at science though so maybe you could help me and katiex out?
Can I set you a challenge? Why don’t you see if you can find out how light travels through a camera, and post the answer here in the comments for me and katiex. I’ll be really impressed if you post the answer before the other scientists get round to answering your question.
Light travels through the lenses, pass the aperature, pass the shutter, and onto the film. Some cameras have a mirror and a penta-prism, SLR, Single Lens Reflex, for viewing before capturing the image. In an SLR camera, light comes in through the lens and is reflected on a mirror. When the shutter opens, the light coming off the mirror hits the film.
I hope that answers my own question 😉 and helps you and katiex
I actually know the answer to the question now because of you. Sounds like it works a lot like our eyes but with some extra bits (mirrors) and with film where the light receptors in our retina would be – very interesting stuff.
You beat the other scientists to answering it too 🙂
