• Question: How far and much would you sacrafice to find a cure?

      I would sacrifice my time and my hard work, but I wouldn’t compromise on ethics. Anyway, that would be more for when you go into clinical trials (with all the rules and standards to be able to test something in humans), but that is not something that I’m going to do myself.

      If I knew that I would definitely be able to find a cure for all cancers, I would probably be willing to sacrifice an awful lot. Though I wouldn’t be willing to do anything immoral.
      But since you can never know if your research is going to be successful, there are limits to what I sacrifice. I do give up quite a lot of time and energy to do my research, and you could say that I’ve sacrificed having lots of money as well, because I could be doing another job with a much higher salary. But I’m not willing to sacrifice spending time with family and friends, that’s too important to me.

      I don’t know. I guess it would depend on how likely I was to find a cure.

      It’s probably more likely that cures will be found if lots of scientists do a little bit, rather than just one giving up everything to focus just on curing cancer.
