It would be nice to go back to the school in the village where I come from (only 3500 people!) with some of my scientist friends from different fields of science and spend a day with pupils of your age explaining our life as a scientist. I hope that in this way at least few children will fall in love with science. I’m the only girl from my village that is doing science and before me there was only a guy, so it’s time to make those numbers bigger!

I’d really like to produce some materials which can be used in schools for lessons about understanding the results of medical research that are published in the news.

I would buy some equipment to take to schools with me when I give talks, so that I can get students to do an experiment. I’m still not sure exactly what I’d get though… I need to think of an experiment that’s fun but also relatively easy to do and safe. I was talking to a friend the other day and she suggested extracting DNA from strawberries, which could be quite cool… what do you think?
