• Question: If you won the £500, how would you make sure that it is used appropriatley and the money you spend won't be wasted?

      I would contact schools before I send out a pack, so that I can be sure that the teachers will use it and not just throw it in the bin.

      I think that the best way to make sure that the money isn’t wasted is to talk to lots of school students, teachers and people like Sophia who set up I’m a Scientist – especially the students!

      All of us have some great ideas, but obviously I think that my idea for lessons about understanding medical research in the news is the best one. What do you think?

      The money is supposed to be spent on promoting science to young people, so I would spend it on buying stuff to do experiments with when I go to schools. I’m not sure exactly what, I need to think of something that would be fun and interesting to do, but it also has to be safe and relatively easy. My favourite idea at the moment is extracting DNA from strawberries. Anyway, the point of that would be to make school students see that science can be fun. If could change just one student’s mind about science, then I think that would mean the money wasn’t wasted.
