      Hi bonnie14.
People used to think that aspartame caused cancer because studies in rats found that rats that ate aspartame were more likely to get leukaemia than rats that didn’t eat it. However, studies that have been done in large groups of people have found that people who eat or drink aspartame are no more likely to get cancer than people who don’t.
