      Cancers develop from ‘pre-cancerous lesions’. This means that the cells have started to become abnormal, but they’re not actually cancerous yet. Some of these will go on to become cancer, but others won’t.

      Pre-cancers are when there are cells that are slightly abnormal, which if left untreated might go on to become cancer later.
