The one thing that always astounds me is the question ‘Why is there something rather than nothing?’. The existence of the universe is one of the most baffling mysteries there is. Some people pretend to have answers, but they always rely on something else, like ‘it was the big bang’ or ‘god did it’. Those answers really don’t help, because they don’t explain why there was a big bang or a god. AAaaarrhhh. It drives me nuts. I really wish I knew the answer but I don’t.

Nature in any form, from the biggest animal to the what is inside a cell. Any time that I do an experiment to look at cell division and I see the chromosomes I get emotional!

The scale of the universe, and the potential for life to have evolved elsewhere… Also – did anything exist before the big bang?
