      There are very stringent rules governing the translation of research from the lab to the clinic, and everything that is tried on patients has to be shown to be safe.

      I don’t think that would happen. If my research leads to the development of new drugs, those drugs will be tested extensively to make sure they’re safe. In the very unlikely event that something did go wrong and people got harmed, I would be devastated though.
