Perhaps you are talking about the eating disorder anorexia, where people (usually women), don’t eat. You should really ask a psychologist, because it doesn’t make sense to me. I really enjoy good food, and the concept of not eating seems alien to me.
If people have a disease like anorexia that makes them not eat, it’s because they have psychological problems. These problems can be caused by various different factors, but it’s often from a misguided desire to look good (of course, being horribly skinny doesn’t look good at all).

Jenna – If you did want to know why people become anorexic, I think there are lots of different reasons and we don’t know all of them yet. There are some scientists in Oxford (and all over the world) who are trying to find out – and are trying to make people better too.
