Hi abrahams1!
I’d like to add to Jo’s answer by saying that I research cancer to try and find out new things about it, so that we can develop new treatments. Research in this sense doesn’t mean looking things up on the internet to find out what’s known, it means doing experiments to find out completely new things that weren’t known before. So we are trying to stop cancer by doing research!
