• Question: why don't you do more useful things like stopping cancer rather than just researching it ?

When we find out something from our research that can prevent cancer we write about it so that lots of people can find out. Then if people know about it they might be able to change their behaviour to reduce their risk of getting cancer.

If no-one did cancer research we might never have found out that smoking causes cancer and so more people might smoke and more people might get cancer because of smoking.
