Question: Would you like to create a super power with science? If so, what would your super power be?

I don’t think I would like to create a super power, because in the stories about scientists that create super powers something usually goes wrong.

My superpower would be the ability to allow people to understand the motivations behind other people’s actions. I think that, too often, we assume that people act in ways we don’t understand because they are inherently bad people. I think that this is only true in the minority of cases – so if we could overcome this, and understand why people act as they do, and perhaps think before we judge people negatively, we could prevent much of the conflict between that happens between humans.
But if that didn’t work out, then time travel or anti-gravity.

Hmmm…
I’m not sure I would like to create a super power. I don’t like the idea of one person having too much power. We are all human, and we can get things wrong. It would be all too easy to abuse invisibility, or the ability to stop time (ignoring the philosophical problem that THAT notion brings up), or super strength. I think recognising our own weaknesses is as important, or more important, than recognising our strengths. -

Actually, I don’t think I would like to create a super power. It sounds a bit too power-hungry!
If I did have a super power though, I’d like to be able to fly.

After reading Leo’s answer, that seems really good. Super-empathy, that would be a power worth having, although even that would also be open to abuse.
