      Yes, I would say that the UK is one of the leading countries in cancer research. We have many very good institutes.

      The UK invests more money in research than probably all other countries in Europe (surely more than Italy), so there are more places where they have enough money to do good research. In Italy there are still few good places for cancer research though.

      I’m not sure that the UK is ahead of other countries in the development of cancer research. There are lots of countries that do great research, including the UK, and it’s really important that we all work together. If we don’t all work together we might waste lots of money all researching the same things – or we might miss the chance to do something really great.

      The UK is one of the leading countries in the world for science in general. There are lots of fantastic universities and research institutes here.
